Dr Snowy Khoza is the group CEO of Bigen Africa Group, was executive guest of honour and was interviewed by Dineo Molokoane, author of A New Becoming book and founding director of Shedding Light.
Dineo starts the interview with the question ‘who is Dr Snowy Khoza?’. She replies with ‘Snowy Khoza is a product that came through difficult process of purification and moulding. Going through the fires of poverty, inequality and injustice.’ Experiences she’s grateful to God because they made her to be ethical, passionate, resilient and a development activist. She continues by narrating her childhood hardships and challenges, how her grandmother thought her integrity, dignity in labour and compassion. She became an entrepreneur at the age of 16, cultivating and selling vegetables. Later on was braiding nurses hair, making R3.00 a day.
She encouraged entrepreneurs to be resilient in their pursuit no matter the challenges and learn to ask for help (stresses the importance of mentorship) in their business development. Dineo asks further questions about her education, leadership journey, South African socio-economic view, impacts on engineer-colleagues, corporate responsibility, job creation, women leadership, SMME & youth empowerment etc. The conversation between them was highly educational, entrepreneurial, business and personal leadership focused.
The interview session was followed by Q&A from the attending entrepreneurs, they directed their questions to Dr Snowy and she gave precise and actionable answers that will propel the them into next level if acted upon.
The final part of the agenda is presentation of gift and award. 67CEOs Foundation presented Dr Snowy with an EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP RECOGNITION award. The recognition award emphasises her passion for people’s development.
Surprisingly to all, Dr Snowy made a personal commitment to sponsor two startup entrepreneurs’ mentorship at R67000 each.
