Small business is a vital component in the economy of South Africa and its recovery, serving as the processor through which goods, services and livelihoods flow. However, figuring out new business model and ‘new normal’ in a post-pandemic world is complicated for even the savviest entrepreneurs. Therefore, in order for South Africa economy to achieve and sustain its recovery plans, small business support must be central to the action plan by public and private institutions.

Many studies revealed that small businesses in Africa are currently facing difficulties resulted from COVID-19 and their recovery are constrained among others by lack of financial support.
